• Organization Purpose Statement:

  The purpose of this Association is to advance the role and function of rehabilitation counseling in the rehabilitation of all people with physical and mental disabilities by:

  1. Exploring in depth the ramifications of the role and function of rehabilitation counseling in assisting people with disabilities to become self sufficient, maximize their potential, and become active, productive members of society.

  2. Increasing public understanding of the role and function of rehabilitation counseling in assisting people with disabilities to become self sufficient, maximize their potential, and become active, productive members of society.

  3. Promoting and encouraging the development of professional training opportunities for all persons engaged in providing rehabilitation counseling services to the public.

  4. Providing a forum for the discussion of ethical issues in rehabilitation counseling practice.

  5. Stimulating creative writing and communication on rehabilitation counseling practice.

  6. Motivating student research, testing research ideas, and providing a forum for student research exchange.

  7. In order to promote the GSUNRCA, Georgia State University, and provide opportunity for training and networking of members, the association will seek volunteer opportunities with agencies and organizations that provide services to persons with disabilities.

  8. To act as a resource of information and direction to incoming students.

  9. In order to promote the GSUNRCA, Georgia State University, and provide opportunity for training and networking of members, the association will seek active participation in the Georgia National Rehabilitation Association meetings and functions.

  10. Stimulating dialogue with other disciplines in the campus setting that relate to rehabilitation counseling.

  11. Having and holding funds and property incidental to chapter functions and to give or take title thereto.

  12. Doing all the proper things in the furtherance of the above purposes
