2013 - 2014 SHLA Officers:

3L President: Kyle Gregory (3L)

Kyle Gregory earned a B.A. in History from Georgia State University. During his 1L summer he interned with Grady Health System and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. His health law interests include the public health sector as well as healthcare regulation and policy. He is currently pursuing a joint JD/MSHA degree and will graduate this May.

2L President: Nirvi Shah (2L)

Nirvi Shah graduated from Emory University with a B.A in psychology and linguistics. This past summer she worked at the American Cancer Society. She was drawn to GSU Law because of the health law program and hopes to practice medical malpractice defense upon graduation. 

Vice President of Operations: Sam Shapiro (3L)

Sammy Shapiro graduated from the University of Georgia in 2011 with a B.A. in Economics. He came straight to law school and is currently a 3L.  This past summer he spent working with the attorney general's office in the Medicare fraud control unit. His interest in health law is business-oriented, focusing on helping hospitals acquire private physician practices without violating stark law or the anti-kickback statute. He is currently engaged in a Masters of Health Administration program and hopes to graduate in 2014.

Student Outreach Coordinator: Maple Dynan (2L)

 

1L Secretary: Greg Tanner (1L)

Greg Tanner earned his B.A. in Religion from UGA and an M.A. from Dallas Seminary. He then completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education and worked as Chaplain at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. Through his work at Parkland, Greg became interested public health, and he hopes to use his legal training for a career in health care policy, regulation, and ethics. Greg lives in Sandy Springs with his wife, Molly, and their two cats.
