General Tryout Information:

How to approach the tryout problem

Read it.  Pick a side you want to advocate.  Then go to room 657 and sign up on the sheet outside of the STLA office door.

What next?

If you are a rising 2L, you must prepare either an opening or a closing.  If you are a rising 3L, you must prepare an opening or a closing AND a cross examination of a witness of your choosing on the opposite side you're advocating (i.e. if you are representing the State, you can choose any defense witness to cross and vice versa).  Your opening or closing should be eight (8) minutes.  Your cross should be about four (4) minutes.

Now what?

PRACTICE.  Regardless of your natural talent, practice makes perfect.
